laqI become an advocate for many reasons. Firstly when i was diagnosed at 22 I had only my husband as my support system. When I told my family I was shunned and looked down upon. I was so upset I stopped even getting treatment and attempted suicide. The day I was released from the hospital I vowed to devote my life to learning and educating others about mental illness.

Mental Illness Awareness for Minorities and other Ethnicities

instaI just want to raise awareness and stop the stigma about mental illness. A lot of us in the minority community are afraid to seek help because of stigma.
